Terminology:

What is a Back Bet?

A back bet is when you bet for something to happen. (Purple)

What is a Lay Bet?

A lay bet is when you bet against something happening. (Yellow)

Stakes=  amount of money invested on a bet

Liability=  the amount you are risking when placing a bet - whether that's backing or laying an outcome This amount will be deducted from your balance should your bet lose.

Why hasn't my bet been matched?

If there is not sufficient liquidity in the market, or you have decided to place your bet at odds different to the current price, sometimes you don’t have any other player to bet against your bet at that specific price and set of odds. Each market will show the current odds and liquidity so you are able to get your bet matched instantly.

Can I cancel my bet?

If your bet is not fully matched, you can cancel all or part of your bet depending on the bet status. Keep in mind, you cannot cancel a Matched bet.

All unmatched bets will be canceled automatically once the event begins.

Why is a Betting Exchange better than a Sportsbook?

Lower fees. Because you’re betting peer-to-peer, there are no sportsbooks to take their large cuts. You’ll be paying just 5 cents per dollar ONLY as the winning bettor instead of 10-20 cents. Exchanges are very customer-friendly.

* Everything is a two-way market. Traditional sportsbooks will often offer only one side of a bet. When you want to bet on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl at +700 at an exchange, there has to be someone on the other side to take -700. That gives you the option to take “yes” or “no” of pretty much every bet type.

* You can’t be banned or limited for winning (at least not by the operator). If you’re a professional bettor who has been limited by many traditional sportsbook for winning, you might have more luck at an exchange. You just need to find someone to take the other side of your action. The operator itself won’t limit you, because it isn’t negatively affected by your success.
